Description:
The Redilast Mini USB Charger is a full featured USB powered CC/CV Li-ion battery charger. The charger with the included magnets can charge a variety of cells of varying sizes and capacities including: (10180, 10280, 10440, 10250, 14250, 14430, 14500, 14650, 16340, 16650, 17360, 17500, 17650, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 18700, 26650 etc). Only charge cells with a capacity of 100mAh or greater, or you will exceed the recommended maximum charge current of most Li-ion cells which is 1C.
The standardized USB connection allows charging in a variety of locations: from a desktop computer, AC outlet USB power supply, USB 12v Car charter, solar panel or even from a portable laptop or power bank. This versatility makes this charger the ideal choice to take with you on the go.
Approximate Charge times*:
RCR123 — 1.5hrs.
14500 — 2hrs
17500 — 3hrs
18500 — 4hrs
18650 — 7hrs
26650 — 10hrs
*For 500mAh model. Depends on cell capacity, state of charge, and power source.
Operating instructions:
Using the Redilast Mini USB charger is simple. Simply plug in the charger into any available 500mA capable USB port. Next connect the supplied magnets to the alligator clips. Place the Red wire with symbol on the battery terminal, and place the black aligator clip and corresponding magnet on the – battery terminal (flat side). The charger will display a blue LED showing that charging is in progress. Once charging is complete, the blue LED will turn off.
After one cell is charged, if the USB Charger is still plugged in and another cell is attempting to be “topped off” with a voltage of 4.05v or higher, the charger must be unplugged, or it will not initiate a new charge cycle.
The charger has built in reverse polarity protection. However, connecting a battery with leads reversed will still cause the blue light to turn on. In this case, the battery will actually be slightly discharged through the chargers internal mosfet. This will not damage the charger or battery, but is not recommended to leave the battery connected incorrectly, as the charger may continue to drain the battery.
The included magnets are very powerful. Keep these away from sensitive electronics. The included magnets are powerful enough to make contact with protected cells that do not have very magnetic protection circuit or button top plates. In some rare cases we have found that some cells end is not magnetic at all, and may require the use of carefully clipping the alligator clip onto the cells button top. External charging bays and clamps may also be used.
